Developing the North Regional Summits

You are invited to attend the Developing the North Regional Summits that are being held in Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Darwin.

Come along and have your say about the future of your Northern Territory by putting questions and ideas direct to a panel of Territory Government ministers and representatives from the private sector, industry and local government.

Submit your questions to the panel using our online form and then come along on the day to join in the discussions.

New fun run for Darwin

A new mile-long running event will bring thousands of spectators to Darwin’s famous Mitchell Street in September.

The inaugural Mitchell Street Mile is being held from 3pm to 7pm on Sunday 21 September, and will see athletes and amateur runners take on the 1.6 km (mile) challenge right in the heart of the city.

The race will begin at the Mitchell Street/Bennet Street junction outside the Deck Bar. The route will then travel south along Mitchell Street through to the Daly Street intersection before the field turns around and runs back along Mitchell Street, finishing where they started.

Open day at Supreme Court and Government House

Supreme Court and Government House will open their doors to the public on Saturday 9 August 2014 to show what goes on behind the scenes.

Supreme Court (Darwin) 9am – 2pm
Participate in a Sentencing Forum and Mock Trial, join a guided tour of the holding cells, jury deliberation rooms, court rooms and the remarkable art collection. Informative displays by Police Forensics, Correctional Services, Witness Assistance Services, various Legal and Interpreter Services, Community Justice Centre, Consumer Affairs, Ombudsman NT and Anti-Discrimination.

Government House 1pm – 6pm
Experience the graciousness of the Northern Territory’s vice-regal residence, and learn more about the role of the Administrator. There will be live entertainment, Devonshire teas and a sausage sizzle. Stroll through the beautiful gardens and grounds. A team of horticulturists will be on hand to share their knowledge. Free parking (enter via smith street)
